Stargazing together with your little one!

The nights are still pretty long and summer time has not started yet, which means it’s already dark early in the evening. This makes March the perfect month for stargazing with your child! And hopefully 30 March is a clear night, because that’s when the constellation Gemini is in the sky.

30 March: Gemini
On this day, you can see Castor and Pollux in the sky, two of a total of nine stars that are part of the constellation of Gemini. They are directly to the right of the moon and can be seen from 10pm in the southwestern sky. The stars are quite high and very bright, so you can hardly miss them.

And did you know that Castor and Pollux are named after Roman mythological figures? In fact, Castor and Pollux were immortal twins!

Our animal posters are great fun for looking at the stars together with your child as well as practising animal names – perfect for the nursery room: colourful, cheerful and an ideal bedtime activity! The great thing is that you can look for the constellations in the sky and use the animal illustrations with them. This is because the animal illustrations are all constellations that were in your child’s birth sky (so not every row of animal illustrations is the same!).

If you look closely at the constellation Gemini, you will actually see two ‘puppets’ standing hand in hand! Looking at the constellations also constitutes creative viewing. Hugely important for a child’s development, in our opinion!

Starry sky poster with animal illustrations
The stars are always different and where you look up on Earth also largely determines what you get to see! Above the western hemisphere, there is a good chance that the constellation of Gemini is in the sky of your special moment.
If you choose one of our designs with animal illustrations, you will get five constellations as animal illustrations under your personalised starry sky. The position of the stars determines which one!

Fill in the following details to see your starry sky poster:
