️Summer Solstice

This year, Summer Solstice falls on Wednesday 21 June at 14.58h – making 21 June the longest day of the year! The ultimate summer night, because the longest day also means the sun sets late at night.

And did you know that in the southern hemisphere, Summer Solstice occurs at a different time? There, Summer Solstice is on 22 December at 03.28h (and so it is winter now – with the shortest day on 21 June).

Do you spot the sun on our MrStarsky x TERRA starry sky? At MrStarsky, we distinguish between daytime and nighttime starry skies. In fact, for almost all our starry sky designs, a personalised poster of a daytime moment (i.e. with the sun ‘up’) has a lighter colour than the night sky.

Moreover, the daytime sky depicts the sun!

So on the day of Summer Solstice, you have the highest chance that the sun was in the sky and therefore depicted on your poster. The sun is in the sky on 21 June 16 hours and 48 min in – for example – Amsterdam!

Enjoy the longest day of the year!
