Our posters show how the stars really looked at a specific moment and in a specific place. The Earth rotates on its axis and around the sun, so the sky is always changing. If two people look up at the same moment in Cape Town and Amsterdam, they will see different skies. An astrological sign, however, is the same for everyone born between roughly the 21st of one month and the 21st of the next. So it may simply be that the astrological sign was not visible in the sky at birth.

We use several datasets that allow us to see very accurately which stars were, or are, central in the sky at a specific place and moment. Sometimes two posters can look almost the same: one made for a night sky, and another for daytime half a year later. This is caused by the movement of the Earth. As the Earth turns on its axis, the sky appears to rotate around a point near Polaris, the North Star. Every night, the stars return to the same position 4 minutes earlier, because the Earth has moved a little further around the sun. When we started MrStarsky, we chose to illustrate a number of the 88 constellations. Five of these illustrations appear on the poster, depending on which constellations are central in the sky. In the Southern Hemisphere, the skies can be so different that none of the illustrated constellations are visible. In that case, our website will show a message for the animal illustration styles saying that it is not possible to create a poster. The other styles can generate a starry sky for all possible locations.

We ship our books in a mailbox-sized box with a top closure. The book is packed with care and can therefore be sent directly to someone as a gift.

Within the Netherlands, we charge a shipping contribution of €2. For orders outside the Netherlands, the shipping contribution is based on the actual costs; we charge a contribution towards these costs.

Deliveries within the Netherlands: Making a book is quite complex, so we need a little more time for it. On average, your book will be on its way within five days. We ship our picture books on Mondays and Thursdays as mailbox parcels, so you do not need to stay home for delivery. A track & trace message is sent once the carrier has scanned the parcel. Deliveries outside the Netherlands: The picture book is usually handed to the carrier within five working days. The delivery time depends on the destination. Feel free to contact us for an estimate.

We ship our posters in flat packaging, because the paper is too thick to roll up. The frame is carefully protected for shipping. When you order both a poster and a frame, the poster is not placed in the frame.

Deliveries within the Netherlands: An order is shipped on the working day after it is placed, unless you choose bank transfer. We ship with PostNL. Within the Netherlands, PostNL usually delivers the next day, except on Sundays. Your poster will therefore usually arrive within 2 to 3 working days. As soon as PostNL scans your parcel, the Track & Trace email is sent. Deliveries outside the Netherlands: An order is shipped on the working day after it is placed, unless you choose bank transfer. We ship international orders through PostNL’s partner network. The total delivery time depends on the destination. You can follow your order with the MyParcel tracking code.

Our frames are made from solid oak. This gives them a beautiful natural look, as well as great durability and strength. We deliberately chose this upgrade because it improves quality and customer satisfaction.

Our current frames are made from solid oak. The previous collection was made from a different type of wood with a slightly different look. If you want to hang frames next to each other, a difference in colour and structure may be visible. You can order a new frame separately if you would like them to match.

The illustrations in the book were created by Marta Abad Blay. This Spanish artist also illustrated a starry sky poster. The animals in the storyline and on the poster match too.

Yes, the cover is a hardcover with matte laminate. A hardcover keeps the book beautiful for longer and also makes it a lovely gift.

For our books, we use 100% natural, FSC-approved 170 gsm paper. The books are made in the Netherlands. Because we use sturdy, high-quality paper, the book can handle many little hands. Marta Abad Blay’s magical illustrations also truly come to life on this beautiful paper.

The book has 32 pages of reading joy in total.

The book measures 22 x 25 cm.

Some styles do indeed differ in price from the other posters. This is because the constellations on these posters are finished with gold foil, giving them an extra luxurious look.

At MrStarsky we use 100% natural, FSC-approved 270 gsm paper. It is off-white and has a subtle texture. For the gold foil posters we use a slightly raised texture, and for the other posters a soft eggshell-like structure. Our posters are made in the Netherlands.

All illustration styles are available in three sizes: 30 x 40 cm, 40 x 50 cm and 50 x 70 cm.

Within 3 hours after placing your order, we can still process changes. In that case, send an email to hi@mrstarsky.com or reply to your order confirmation.

We do everything we can to deliver your order as expected and on time. If your order does not meet your or our quality standards when it arrives, for example because it was damaged in transit, please contact us within one week. Send an email with a photo and your order number to hi@mrstarsky.com, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Because our products are personalized, exchanges are not possible. We recommend checking the details in your order confirmation carefully to make sure everything is correct. You can send us changes until 10:00 in the morning after the order has been paid.
